Set up in August 2003, michaels' @ maximum, or 'The Michaels', as they have come to be known are a band based in the town of Portmarnock, Co.Dublin, Ireland. The band is made up of three musicians, two of whom have a full music career behind them, with 2 or 3 solo albums and several collaborative projects. The band are dedicated strongly to the phrase "less thinking - more playing", and have a truly unique and in many ways, inspirational way of making music.

The Michaels believe that your surroundings strongly effect your creative abilities and that what is achievable spontaneously, is often far more interesting than a laborious approach, and so as a result, they write much of their music in unusual locations and on the spur of the moment. On the train tracks, Up a Tree, at a Party & Standing on a roundabout are a few of the places The Michaels have recorded tracks. The list goes on!
